Nymphs and Satyr

Title: Nymphs and Satyr.

Year: 1873.

Media: oil on canvas.

This painting by Bouguereau comes from French Academic period.

The importance of human figure is very important within this period. That is why no wonder you see the nymphs are very proportional.

I would say that the composition of the colors has a naturalistic form. The mixture of green and brown just so natural, and also I would like to infer that the painter made this painting in a plein air.

For your information, I use this painting as my destkop background.

Satyr is a Greek mythological creature which has half human and half goat figure. Satyr represents sexual drive.

As for nymphs, they are female spirits associated with particular landform which also considered as a retiune of god such as Hermes, or Dionsyus.

From this painting, we can see that the one of the nymphs are inviting their friend into a "wild" party with satyr and you already know what happens next. Don't you?

Well, I just glad that this painting always brings me into an aesthetic experience.

Movies

I'm going to tell you guys a (very) brief movie reviews.
I don't feel like give more introduction, so here you go.

Avatar

Here comes blue creatures after yellow creatures (The Simpsons). You have to watch it in 3D. Otherwise, you won't experience the outstanding graphics which this movie offers. The duration of the movie is very long (2hrs 40 mins), so take a large popcorn and soft drink with you before you get into the theater.

Rating: 9/10

The Book of Eli

Beware of violence materials because I had a female friend with me who watched this movie and she could not resist some violent scene. This movie has brought me into a deeper thoughts of civilization.

Rating: 7/10

When in Rome

I am considering Rome as my honeymoon destination because of this movie. It is a comedy romantic movie. A little bit exaggerated for the comedy part. And I don't think I will have a clown car someday.
Rating: 7.7/10

A Note When The Clock Shows 12.50 AM

I seek for some reason.
Yet, I found it

Who said that when two person fall in love they must be have the same feeling?
I would rather called it ironic.
Because I had, but it's not the way how it should be.

It's simlpy amazing that time makes a big difference.
Yet, I found it simply amaizing because I can deny the fact.

Stupid cupid!
But thanks to you.

Because I'm happy to find myself finally found you.

Another surprise!

I have a feeling that I'm going to enjoy art class which I'm taking right now.
Arts 2D; history of arts from post impressionism - 21th century. I was so skeptical due to what I had in my high school in my home country. Art was a nightmare for me. I was forced to do for something that I dislike such as making a prespective. In my case today, art is fun! I had never thought that art could be more interesting. In my class, the professor teach me how to analyze a piece of art from it's colors, shape, value, figure, etc. It was fun! The facts and stories that implicitly showed in the art itself is very adorable. Hence, it brings me to aesthetic and sublime experience.
Anyway, thanks to HUMI1 class which I took last quarter. Now, I have a better understanding and a better view of what I learn in school.

Anyway, I'm currently listening to Michael Buble. Album: Crazy Love. Highly recommended!

Coming Back

Happy new year guys!!
sorry for the long absences.

Well, Winter quarter has begin, and I had a great holiday.
I went to Seattle, and Vancouver BC during my winter break. Thanks to Michelle Yang who gave me a great hospitality when I was in Vancouver. Anyway, she's also a reliable and sophisticated tour guide. Binardy for his treat and talk. Man, you are such a great high school senior!!! Winda, Christopher Hanno, and Irene Tjhai who make me feel welcome in Vancouver.

Anyway, I'm not in the mood for posting some pitcures to this post, so feel free to take a look on my facebook.

I wish I had my family with me when I went to Vancouver because I really enjoy the atmosphere of the city esp. for the Holiday Season.

As for Seattle, it has a super cheap delicious dim sum restaurant. Oh, and I went to the very first starbucks coffee shop. I was not surprised when I saw the brown logo because I had already knew that the first logo is brown. Anyway, I had a reasearch about starbucks on the previous quarter.

Time to talk about my educational journey: I adressed a complaint about a sudden change of instructor. I simply adressed a compalint via e-mail and I successfully get what I want. Sadly, another problem come. Anyway, I'm too lazy to explain the details. Problems come and go, but this is life.

As for now, I haven't got my shower and it's already 1AM. Time to get showered, and go to bed.

After 1 Month

It's been a month since my last post. Actually I had nothing which was significant for a month besides hopa, and this annoying sore throat.

I had my sore throat straight after I ate panda express (Beijing beef, orange chicken, mushroom chicken, and fried rice) hmmmm...sounds a lot for a meal.

Although I have a not so normal college life pattern, I can assure you that I can survive. I have to skip my breakfast which I don't have everyday because of my habit, and I have to skip my lunch every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. So, I don't have anything besides mineral water on my stomach until 4P.M. on the day that I mention above. That's why I have to take 1 big meal at 4 P.M. 1 big meal at one time reminds me of sumo eating pattern. FYI, sumo take his meal only once for a day, but he has a very huge meal at that one time.

However, I'm taking nutrition class for this quarter, and my instructor (she is a registered dietitian in the bay area) said that I must had not skip my meal in order to retain my muscle mass. In fact, I'm struggling to shape my arms. The bottom line: Skipping meal is a serious business for me.

It's such a pain in the ass for me to take nutrition class for general education req. in long life development area because I can take human sexuality class which has the same area with nutrition. However, I learn that my sister's recommendation is not always the best one to take.

By the way, you should watch the office Halloween episode because it's f*ing hilarious.

Well, I should study again for my mid term tomorrow.

Sampai jumpa~~
